16th SPIS ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

The much awaited Closing Ceremony of the 16th Annual Sports Meet was held on Saturday, 3rd November, 2018 in St. Paul’s International School, Kalamassery with great excitement.

The much awaited Closing Ceremony of the 16th Annual Sports Meet was held on Saturday, 3rd November, 2018 in St. Paul’s International School, Kalamassery with great excitement. The Guest of Honour was Mr. Ashokarajan. K (MCPO II PT, The Chief Coach of the Naval Athletics Team).The National Athlete, Mr. Shijil was also present in the function.

The day started off with the a prayer song by the SPIS choir. The programme began with the Principal of the School, Mr. K.V.George welcoming the esteemed gathering. The Director of the School, Rev. Dr. Douglas Pinheiro gave out the Presidential Address .The Chief Guest, Mr. Ashokarajan. K. addressed the students and told the students to participate in all the games. The National Athlete, Mr. Nishil was also present.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Ashokarajan K. ,the Director of the School, Rev. Dr. Douglas Pinheiro and the Principal of the School, Mr. K.V.George took the salute of the impressive March Past of the students coupled with some stirring marching music by the SPIS Band.

The March Past was led by the School Captain, Abhinanda. G. Maheira and the Vice-Captain, Sohail Sanjay. The Four Houses namely-The Alps House was led by the Captains- Gourishankar. R and Treasa Mariya and the Vice-Captains by Milan George and Jessica. The Andes House was led by the Captains- B.S Sabarish and Vaibhavi. G. Rao and the Vice-Captains by Navya Vijay and P. U. Pranav. The Atlas House was led by the Captains- Neeraj and Merin Jai and the Vice-Captains by Justin George and Anagha Biju. The Himalaya House was led by the Captains- Sarath .K. Ajith and Ann Mary Helen and the Vice-Captains by Alisa Mariam and Alfred Thomas.

The audience next witnessed various display performances that made way for the highly awaited athletic events of the SPIS students. The skating display mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. After the formal function, the students were engaged in the assorted sports events.

Fun time for the parents and the staff members added to the enjoyment. Two events were conducted for them namely Skipping Race for the Gents and Dragging the ball with hoolahoops for the Ladies.

Mr.Babu. C, the parent of Keerthana of VI-A, bagged the first prize and Mr. Santosh Panicker, the parent of Sanjana of VII-A, bagged the second prize for the Skipping Race for Gents and Mrs. Collen. M. J, the parent of Alyza of VII-A and Alton of V-A, bagged the first prize and Mrs. Sony.S. H,the parent of Thanmaya of III-B, bagged the second prize for Dragging the ball for ladies.

Dragging the ball was conducted for the staff members of SPIS. Surya Francis won the first prize for the Ladies Category and Mr. K. V.George, the Principal of the School won the First Prize for the Gents Category.

The winners were awarded with medals by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ashokarajan K, and the National Athlete, Mr. Shijil, the Director of the School, Rev. Dr. Douglas Pinheiro and the Principal of the School, Mr. K.V.George. The School Captain, Kumari, Abhinanda .G. Maheira delivered the Vote of Thanks. The programme came to an end with the National Anthem by the SPIS choir.

    On 12th December, 2018, a class on Energy Conservation was organised at St. Paul’s International School, Kalamassery
  • Film Workshop
    A workshop on films and art of film making was held in St Paul's International School on 22nd June 2019. The workshop was arranged in the Yoga room for the students of classes VII and VIII. It was led by Mr Sabu Pravadas, the noted malayalam film director and Mr Charly, the new malayalam film actor. Both the mentors are experts in their respective fields. The programme covered various aspects of film making like visual photography, editing, cinematography, art direction, acting and dubbing etc. The students were very much interested in the workshop. They learnt many new aspects of the art of film making. They got a clear idea about the various options in the field of film making as a profession.
  • Annual Academic Exhibition 2019-20
    The Annual Academic Exhibition 2019 - 20 of St Paul's International School was held on 29th and 30th July. Students of classes L.K.G to XIIth showcased their innovative works on English, Hindi, Malayalam, Maths, Science, Social, Computer science, German, Spanish, Art and Craft etc. All the models, Charts and games were tastefully decorated and confidently demonstrated by the students. The exhibition was officially inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof Dr P. Venu, Head of the department of Mathematics of SCMS. The welcome address was given by the school captain Master Sohail Sanjay Moideen.
  • Vidyarambham 2019
    12th June, 2019 marked an important Milestone in the annals of St Paul's International School, as the tiny tots of the L.K.G. section stepped into the temple of knowledge. The colourful programme kickstarted with the captivating welcome dance by the U. K. G students, followed by the invocation by the SPIK choir. The Welcome speech was given by Mrs. Remila V. T, the K. G. In-charge. The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev Dr Douglas Pinheiro, Director, SPIS. In his address Director reminded that the school is the second home for the kids and the teachers are like their mothers. The event was inaugurated by lighting up the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Mr. Sippy Pallipuram. He stressed on the importance of the mother tongue in our life. The Principal of the school, Mr. George K. V. addressed the gathering and said SPIS students are taught 3 languages along with 2 foreign languages like Spanish and German. Later the L. K. G students along with their parents lit up the Diyas and took part in the auspicious Vidyarambam rituals. The occasion was wrapped up with the vote of thanks by Mrs Mary Ourin, the Vidyarambam I/C and the National Anthem by the SPIK choir.
  • GRAFFITI 2017
    On 19th October, St. Paul’s International School hosted ‘Graffiti 2017’, a wall painting competition. Almost 40 students illustrated their skills and creativity in the field of graffiti by painting on the walls using multitudinous hues. Dr. Sheela Seth, the Principal of the school inaugurated the wall painting competition, that upheld innovation and noveau ideas as its motto and kept aside the traditional means of rendering art.
  • Director's Birthday Celebration
    Students and Staff Members of St Paul's International School celebrated the Director's Birthday in a great manner on 15th October, 2019. Students wished him with a special birthday song, followed by the reading from the Bible by Mrs.Lincy Rajeev, faculty of English. The welcome speech was delivered by Ann Mary Sony of XII-A. The Director of the school, Rev Dr Douglas Pinheiro cut the beautifully decorated birthday cake. The Principal, Mr George K. V. and the Manager, Mr. C. C. Raphael wished him a happy, healthy and long life. Students cheered him up with peppy dances and songs. A P. P. T presentation about the infrastructural development of the school was done. The Principal addressed the gathering and mentioned about the positive qualities of the Director Father and about his great role in the fabulous achievement of the school over the years. SPIK students presented a beautiful skit on stage. On behalf of the Teachers, Mrs Rekha Menon, Mathematics faculty spoke words of gratitude. The Director Father addressed the students and shared his thoughts. He was overwhelmed by the grand birthday celebrations arranged by the students. He reminded them that each moment of our life is a learning experience. He dedicated all the success of the school to the sincere and committed team members of the SPIS family The vote of thanks was delivered by Milan George of XII-A. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
  • Inter School Graffiti Competition – 2019
    The colourful Inter School Graffiti Competition organised by the St Paul's International School, Kalamasserry kickstarted on 10th October, 2019 in the School auditorium. Nine schools took part in the competition. The function started with the invocation by the School choir, followed by the welcome address by Norah Ranson of XI-B. The Principal of the school, Mr George K. V. encouraged the students to flourish their hidden talents through such competitions. In his inaugural address the Director of SPIS, Rev Dr Douglas Pinheiro explained the word "Graffiti" i.e Wall Art. He added that we are all Graffiti artists in our childhood, as we express our thoughts by drawing on the wall. The Director Father painted the wall with the first stroke of paint and formally opened the competition. The theme of the competition was nature. All the teams brilliantly showcased their talents and made the drawings very lively. The valedictory function got started with the invocation by the School choir. The welcome address was delivered by Raisa Parvin of XI-A. The Presidential address was delivered by the Director of SPIS, Rev Dr Douglas Pinheiro. He differentiated Graffiti and the Mural painting and mentioned about the importance of the Kochi Binnale in shaping the "Art Psyche" among the students. The Chief Guest of the day was the Lalithakala Academy Member, well-known Artist, Mr Somji. In the inaugural address, he explained the rich heritage of Graffiti as an art form. He spoke about some of the prolific Graffiti artists across the globe. In the Principal's message, Mr George K. V. thanked the management for organising such a great programme and made the students aware about the Nature and the ways to conserve our mother nature. The winners were honoured with the Cash Awards, Ever rolling Trophy and Certificates. The Ever rolling Trophy and a cash prize of Rs.10,000/- was won by the Assisi Vidyanikethan Public School, Chembumukku. The runner up was Mary Matha Public School, Thrikkakara,and they received Rs.5000/-. The third position was secured by Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Eroor,and they received Rs.2500/-. The fourth position was secured by the host School St Paul's International School, Kalamasserry, winning Rs.1500/-. The fifth position was bagged by the Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kannamaly, and they received Rs.1000/-. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Mrs Suby George, faculty of English, followed by the National Anthem by school choir.
  • Anti – Alcoholism Campaign
    An anti - drug Campaign of the Catholic Church under the auspices of Bishop Remigius Inchananiyil, the State Chairman KCBC (Kerala Catholic Bishops Conference) was held at St. Paul’s International School on 24th November 2017.
  • World Space Week
    As part of the celebration of "SPACE WEEK" a lecture demonstration about the space science and technology by the eminent scientist, ISRO, Dr Ramachandra Rao was arranged in St Paul's International School, Kalamasserry on 14th October, 2019 in the School auditorium. The class was very resourceful and interesting. The welcome address was delivered by Jennisa Marian Chandyson of VIII- B. The Presidential address was delivered by the Principal of the School, Mr George K. V. He encouraged the students to study in the field of space science and technology and specified about the various examinations that they can appear for. The Chief Guest of the function, Dr Ramachandra Rao, VSSC, ISRO discussed the various areas of space technology. He stressed on the importance of space technology across the globe to emerge as the leading nation. He also mentioned about the ways to promote space science and improve the space studies. The vote of thanks was proposed by Angelline C. R. of VIII-A. The Programme concluded with the National Anthem.
  • International Yoga Day 2017
    On 21st June 2017 SPIS celebrated the International Yoga Day by hosting a special assembly coordinated by the Yoga Instructor of the school, Ms. Smitha.
  • PRIZE DAY AND ALUMINI WEBSITE LAUNCH
    Prize Day and the Alumini Website Launch of St. Paul’s International School, Kalamassery was conducted on 24th November, 2018 in the school auditorium. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. Paul Ansel. V, the Vice-Principal of the AISAT, Kalamassery.
