A seminar on water conservation was carried out at St. Paul’s International School on 30th October 2017 by the guest of the day, the eminent hydro-geologist and the Manager of National Resource Management ‘Programme of Caritas’, Dr. Haridas V R. Kerala is a state in India which receives 3000 mm of water as rainfall, yet 7 crore rupees is spent every day on the purchase of bottled water. It enhances the mushrooming of companies supplying packaged drinking water all over Kerala.

“If we do not take up the responsibility to conserve water using innovative means, we will naturally come down to a situation when we will crave to get a drop of water in future”, said Dr. Haridas. Through a power point presentation he made the students aware of the strategies of water conservation and the diseases caused due to contaminated water. Dr. Haridas instilled the message that water is precious by quoting the words of Dr. Arthur which states that “Water is Liquid Gold”.

Dr. Sheela Seth, the principal of the school introduced the guest Dr. Haridas and the Manager of the school Mr. C C Raphael was present on this occasion. Mast. Nikhil Kurian and Ms. Chrisluiah Jiji of class VII B delivered the welcome speech and the vote of thanks.
