
As part of the SEED (Students Empowerment for Environmental Development) club activity, St. Paul’s International School on 5th August 2017 served ‘Karkidaka Kanji’ to all the teaching, non - teaching staff and the members of the SEED club.

As part of the SEED (Students Empowerment for Environmental Development) club activity, St. Paul’s International School on 5th August 2017 served ‘Karkidaka Kanji’ to all the teaching, non - teaching staff and the members of the SEED club. This Kanji was prepared in the school by the SEED coordinators Ms. Maya and Ms. Smitha K.P. Ms. Celine Shirly, faculty member of the Science department, indoctrinated the students on the benefits of consuming this medicinal gruel.

The students were given awareness about the medicinal plants like Kurunthotti, Thazhuthama, Karinkurunji, Keezharnelli, Changalamparanda, Kudukan, Vanakadaladi, Cherukadaladi, Thottavadi etc. which are added in the gruel. This medicinal gruel has the ability to provide rejuvenation and immunity to the human body.

The Director of the school Rev. Dr. Douglas Pinheiro, opined that ‘Karkidaka Kanji’ has a lot of health benefits and provides resistance and immunity for our human body. Dr. Sheela Seth, the School Principal spoke on the benefits of herbal treatments which is more effective than general medicines. Mr. Akhil, Mathrubhumi SEED Co-ordinator also expressed his views on this occasion. The programme came to a cessation with the Vote of Thanks of Ms. Siya Nadirsha of class VIII.
