International Yoga Day 2017

On 21st June 2017 SPIS celebrated the International Yoga Day by hosting a special assembly coordinated by the Yoga Instructor of the school, Ms. Smitha.

On 21st June 2017 SPIS celebrated the International Yoga Day by hosting a special assembly coordinated by the Yoga Instructor of the school, Ms. Smitha. Ms. Serene Roy of class XI A delivered an enlightening speech on how yoga helps in maintaining the balance of our mind, body and soul. The yogic exercise of Pranayama was insisted upon and was performed by the audience. The prime source of attraction in the assembly was the Yoga display which was of 20 minutes duration. 40 students from class 1st to 10th merged sophisticated yoga postures together on stage and enthralled the spectators. Various asanas in yoga like trikonasana, shalabhasana, padahastasana, bhujangasana etc. performed by students, created a magnificent spectacle for the audience. The human formation for the word YOGA using the different asanas was a mind – boggling visual treat.

The assembly was honoured with the presence of Rev. Dr. Douglas Pinheiro, the Director of SPIS. Dr. Sheela Seth, the Principal appreciated the students for putting forward a remarkable performance on stage. She also quoted an incident from a life which stated that all human beings have immense physical strength within themselves. She emphasized on the power of our mind. “Our body is so flexible and it can do anything that our mind says. Through regular practise of Yoga one can live longer,” she added. The assembly gained momentum with the Welcome speech delivered by Ms. Treasa Maria of class XI A Ms. Merin Elizabeth of class IX A delivered the Vote of Thanks.

  • PARTENZA 2017- 2018
    Partenza, the farewell function of the outgoing students of Class XII of SPIS was effectuated on 23rd February, 2018 in the school auditorium. The programmes were hosted by the students of Class XI.
  • Grafity Painting Competition
    A graffity Interhouse competition was held on 19th November, 2018 at St. Paul’s International School, Kalamassery.
  • 17th Annual Day Celebrations Mendeleev @150
    Recognising 2019 as the International Year of Periodic Table of Chemical Elements, St. Paul’s International School, Kalamassery emblazoned its 17th annual day on Nov 23, 2019 with the theme ‘MENDELEEV @ 150,’ commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table organised by the Russian scientist Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev. The prestigious ceremony started with the invocation led by the school choir. Master Sohail Sanjay Moideen, the conscientious School Captain, welcomed the gathering with integrity. Mr. George K.V, Principal of SPIS expounded the school annual report 2019 – 2020 and extolled the tremendous efforts of the management, staff and students in bringing about the growth and development of the school. In his Presidential Address, Rev. Dr. Douglas Pinheiro, Director of SPIS, stressed on the importance of Science at all stages of learning and careers. The chief guest, honourable Mrs. Justice Mary Joseph, High Court of Kerala, inaugurated the function and ignited the audience with her inspiring words. The honourable Justice acclaimed the efforts of the management and students as they excelled in both scholastic and co-curricular activities. She communed that “Every annual day programmes are a platform to improve the flair of the students, rectifying the gaffes of the previous year. The students should stick on to their traditional belief system and moral values imparted to them by their parents and teachers and should fight against the oddities. Every child should be well equipped to face the challenges of childhood, adolescence and teenage; they should be vigilant while using the media and also be trained to live as social beings, reforming the society with responsibility.” Drawing a difference between the olden and modern era, the Justice urged the Paulians to ensure academic growth by exploiting the fortuity of the age. The guest of honour, Very Rev. Msgr. Mathew Ilanjimittam, Vicar General of Archdiocese of Verapoly, launched the New School Logo and blessed the gathering with his humble words. The Msgr. marveled at the theme selected for the year. He communed that the school has left no leaf unturned to portray the acme of internationalism and empowered the students to work hard and utilize to the maximum, the opportunities provided to them. It was a defining moment for the Paulians to receive their trophies and medals from the dignitaries for their outstanding performance in academics and co-curricular activities. As a token of gratitude Rev. Dr. Douglas Pinheiro honoured the chief guests with the mementos. The formal function came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by Kumari Navya Vijay, Captain of Andes House. The audience was taken aback with the enticing show of the Junior Music Band of SPIS, along with the performance of the youngest music composer and melodious singer, the Sakalakala Vallabhan fame, Kumari Shreya S. Ajith. The aspirants of SPIS, unveiled the mystery of the theme and emoted their challenging skills equaling the professionals. The dance variants enthralled the viewers. The theme song released by SPIS was another arresting feature. Ms. Suby V. George, the programme coordinator delivered the vote of thanks and the programme concluded with the national anthem.
  • 15th SPIK Annual Sports Meet 2017- 2018
    St. Paul’s International School celebrated the 15th Annual Sports Meet of Kindergarten in all its grandeur on 20th October 2017. The guest of honour was Rev. Dr. Douglas Pinheiro, the Director of the school. The program gained momentum with the invocation by the SPIK choir. The tiny tots marched forward along with the house captains of the four houses namely Alps, Andes, Atlas and Himalaya and Rev. Dr. Douglas Pinheiro received the general salute from the house captains.
